Hi friends, It seems like technology nowadays are very fast paced. From the old typewriters, to computers, to tablets, to phablets, to cellphones, to smartphones. Within every single year, new versions are released prior to these gadgets and stuff. Kids are more into gadgets rather than books, I noticed that on my 5 year old kid. He learned a lot from his tablet, he knows how to read because he used to watch reading stories in his tablet. So now I have a slight problem with him in terms of writing and drawing. So as far as I am concerned, I bought him books with reading and writing exercise and told him he should finish at least two activities in the book or I will get mad at him I came home. I don't want to do this all the time but this is the way I know t discipline my kid. What do you think guys? Any comments and suggestions?

I am glad to see you...as a mother are aware of this problem that is taking place in the new generation. I do think technology in the hands of children needs to be closely monitored and limited.

Time on the tablet should be limited. It is great that you have activity books for him and that you encourage him to use them daily. You are doing great.

Children do not find technology fast pace. It is adults who find the technology fast pace, and adults know the harm of having too much technology in life. When a time comes when we do not have electricity or wifi access, we will be lost.

Its not bad for kids to use tablets and phones to learn but i would definitely limit it to 30-60mins a day. Plus make them do things in books. Even if its writing in a journal.
