I have just learned it last Monday, April 3 that my student Miss Cinco is 6 months pregnant. We only meet once a week every Tuesday from 7:30 -10:30 . She is a petite lady at 18, tall , pretty and labelled as Miss Mathematician for she is so bright in math, but sad , she failed to apply calculations of her actions. Impregnated her is her classmate of the same course. I noticed during class time, they are sitting closer and always together. In the month of February, her classmates told me they are lovers. Monday, April 3 was their final examination and when I handed to them their test booklet and questionnaire she raised her hand to receive them and I was so shocked to see her belly bigger. She was not able to cover it as what she is always doing by wearing a jacket, but that day was the day of judgment. They should have waited for the right time. Yesterday her parents approached me and asked me if their daughter passed the final examination. I assured them that their daughter will have a flat 1.0 grade of the subject Physics with rigid bodies , despite the 70% passing rate. She perfected the exam since prelim up to final and all the quizzes and long tests perfected. Her boyfriend has also excellent performance in his Civil Engineering course. If you are a parent, what shall you do this situation daughter sent to school but doing immoral activities? Are you going to abort the fetus, or not? Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings. The unborn child has done nothing wrong to the indiscretion of the father and mother. Therefore it should be given its freedom to be born. Having the unborn child aborted will only add to the wrong that has been done.

@cacay1 You said they are good in studies and that poses a question about their conscience not pricking them. A pricking conscience cannot concentrate.

I do not think what they did was immoral. Yes, they should have been more careful and at the very least could have use some sort of protection. No, I do not believe in abortion.

@allen0187 , That is immoral and illegal in the sense that they are singles and they cannot graduate to prove it immoral.

I think we can't do anything about it now. It is becoming a trend. In religion context, it is not acceptable. It is not also good to terminate the unborn baby. That is also a sin.

Well, they had to be more careful, but now it's up to the girl to decide what to do, not to her parents. I think that killing a baby is more immoral than what they did.

@cacay1 An abortion should always be performed in a Hospital by a doctor and there will be no doctor who accepts to make an abortion on a fetus that is already 6 months old.

well, even though these 2 students are intelligent, diligent snd bright, thsat does not exclude them from maintaining chastity because they are still students. having a perfect grade of 1 does not mean she is free to do what she wants with her life. if i am the mother of the lady, i definitely would not want my daughter to do the illegal removal of the products of conception.

I will still let her go to school until she will be giving birth and catch up later. She should show everybody that despite her situation she is still eager to finish her studies. That's the way it should be. To hell with those rumor makers.

Are they already graduating? If I am the parent, especially of the girl, I will ask the boy's parents to have them married even in a civil rites if they are not yet prepared. But they should finish their studies and have the baby raised well.Too bad, the girl is so intelligent to get a 1.0 in Physics! As the saying goes: one can not have all the cake and eat it; she might be intelligent, but she failed in controlling her emotions!

@acelawrites, They are just second year college students. The parents of the gurl disallow marriage this time. They are willing to support the baby , the mother of the girl told me when she approached me in the faculty office.

It happens quite frequently and she is not the first nor will she be the last to be a teen mom. I hope that her parents support her and encourage her through all of this. She still can have a great career as well as be a mom it just will take more work having to also take care of a little one. I wish her only the best.

I really don't know what to say. An abortion would be extreme, but as a parent i would never want to see my kid in such a situation. I would want them to be settled in lives before having a baby, it's a big responsibility.

I had classmates in college that got pregnant. One got pregnant by her long time bf. The bf was 24 and she was 19. They got married. The guy was very responsible and my classmate graduated with us too. The other one got pregnant around the same time the first one they were both 19. She got pregnant by her bf.The guy was studying from another college and they knew each other from working part time jobs. They didnt married immediately but they were responsible parents. She also graduated with us. But I had a friend that abort the baby by drinking those dubious concoction. I think your students can make it. They just need to be responsible for their actions and its a good thing if they have parents that will guide them and classmates that could cover and help them at school.

@diosabella That was sad that ended to triumph, at least they strive and stand back where they fall. Regarding my student, she will deliver her baby in June and will still continue going to college with the support of her parents. Her mom came to me and told me she and her husband, the father of the girl accepted the fate of their child and still willing to send her to college.

@cacay1 A wise decision. Their girl is smart. She learned her lesson. Its good that she has a parents that could support her. Some parents aren't like that.

Disregard the abortion thing. That's absolutely a NO WAY! First off, yes it is immoral. But we don't need to stress that out. The smart girl maybe had done a tremendous turn around decision of her life. If I am the parents, I will talk with the guy and parents. If they love each other, they have to separate and wait till they finish study. It may be a shocking situation but they need to protect the baby inside. Work together as family.

@dhoyalahoy , Hi Dhoy? Actually the mother of the girl same to the faculty office to follow up the grade of her daughter she was happy for the grade is fat 10. They would still send their daughter to school after she delivers her baby come end of May or first week of June. The class begins June 10, she could go to school late but enroll earlier by her relative or her mom.

@cacay1 That's good to hear. How about the guy. They need to move on and continue reaching the dream. It's not the end of everything. God can turn ugly things into the most beautiful opportunity...But! They need to face the consequences. It will never be easy. Never. But it's doable. Be firmed and stand with confidence. That's my message to the girl.
8 Apr 17
Ultimately it's up to no one else than the girl who is pregnant, if anyone forces her to have an abortion or to keep the child she will end up resenting the person. She needs to make her own decisions on what to do now and she needs the support of everyone around her and not be judged

@JeezeLouise , That is right, today she went to the faculty office and gave her inspiring advice. She thought she failed in her other subjects. I told her that her pregnancy does nothing with her grades. Her parents are okay now .By June she will be sent to school and that is the month to deliver the baby.

Falling in love is not immoral to me .. falling pregnant because they love each other is not immoral in my own eyes.. But they could have been more careful not to drag an child into a difficult life ... But if they are doing well with their studies and work toward a giving their child a comfortable life, they should be at least supported emotionally by both families .. No, abortion is not an option unless the unborn child has serious physical deformities..
