Today there was an Easter Egg Hunt funded by a church in the neighborhood. Everyone who lives on our street received an invite which if I had to guess I would say about 15 homes give or take.
We arrived and nobody showed except for two other families besides ours. The field had been covered with Easter eggs 400 to be exact! I think there was about 12-15 kids.
They all had something to put the eggs in. The coordinator lined the kids up and said go and off they went! Everyone was guaranteed to have eggs. Even the little ones like my daughters age 4.
The children had a big smile the whole time. None of the kids played rough and they all left happy talking about their bags and containers full of eggs and the goodies each one was a new surprise.

I was going to do it for my kids if we could not find a public event but they did it a whole week before so we will do one on Easter day for our kids on our property and invite a few of the neighbors kids. Either way whether other kids come or not my kids will have a good time. Our plan is to recreate the appearance of the colorful egg filled field.

That is wonderful. I am glad they had so much fun. It is too bad that more families did not participate but all the more for those who did.

@Happy2BeMe We wanted it to finish about 10 minutes in because it was chilly and windy. In the evenings the sun isn't as bright or as warm so we were ready to go.

It is nice the community churches usually do events like that one a few times a year to help out the less fortunate kids. They do a summer lunch program which my kids have both attended and enjoy a lot. They play games sing learn do projects and its educational.
At the end of the summer lunch program they do a back to school giveaway where they give them back packs with school supplies. They do a big cookout and rent a bounce house for the kids. Free for everyone to come.
There are not many places it seems that does things like that.

@lokisdad It's really amazing what they do for the kids in your place. The best thing in the world is making someone happy. Having these kinds of activities help in improving the social skills in kids. I will check out if any activity like these takes place in my place. Thanks for sharing :)
