Scrub Suit Is Not an Outfit

Most of you had seen that healthcare providers wear a scrub suit. It is a part of identifying them on what hospital they are working in. Some kiddos feel comfortable seeing nurses or doctors wear this type of clothes. I am sure some parents noticed that their children agitated seeing a nurse or doctor wearing the usual white uniform. The downside of the scrub suit is not being noticed. Scrub suit should not be worn in the public. It is simple logic that these scrub suits are contaminated and might have some type of bacteria or virus that can spread and people will fall under the weather. It is a very simple hygienic concern. This scrub suit should be used in the hospital facility. Any thoughts about it? it is. also colorful scrub suits are used by nurses in pediatric ward and not the uniform white, because kids tend to get scared with the color white; thus, the scrub suits should be kid-friendly to the likes of teddy bear, butterflies, and anything that leaves the child at ease and comfortable

@ridingbet When I was in Tajikistan, I don't wear the usual white uniform. Since I am catering children with impairments or disabilities, the children will not shed tears seeing me. Scrub suit is the ideal to wear. Unfortunately, there is no scrub suit and civilian clothes will do the trick. @cacay1 It is nice my friend to wear scrub suit for kids.

i didn't realize that it would carry bacteria and virus. so after your shift, you're supposed to change into civilian clothes?

That's the ideal thing to do, my friend. We cannot be sure that scrub suit is bacteria or viral free. Once the scrub suit was used, it is considered soiled clothing.

@cacay1 That would be nice practice, my friend. Some nurses or even doctors forget this simple protocol.

Those concern nurses, caregivers, etc. should change their clothes after duty to observe safety measures.

I agree. In our country, some of these people forgot the simple standard that need to practice religiously.

I wouldn't have thought people would have worn these outside of the workplace.

@JudyEv I had seen a couple of times for the caregivers who do this. But I think it would be nice to consider the safety of the people.

I'm afraid I've never given this much thought. I don't think people in scrub suits change before they go to the cafeteria or elsewhere to eat. I wouldn't expect them to. Their time is limited.

I think it is fine to wear while eating food in the hospital's cafeteria. But then, if the shift is time off then they can just change their clothes before going back home. I am just saying, my friend. There is a possibility that bacteria or virus can be transmittable with the soiled scrub suit.

I think it's not only the scrub suits that are contaminated ..The hospital itself has so airborne bacteria that can make patients sicker sometimes..

I agree that hospital itself is contaminated. That's the reason why the healthcare providers need not use the scrub suit outside the hospital.

Of course they must not be wore outside the hospital, all the doctors and nurses change their clothes before leaving the facilities and their scrub suits are washed every day.

As practiced, scrub suit should only be worn inside the vicinity of the clinic or hospital where you are on duty or call. If there's a need to go outside, blazer is advised to be worn.

Working in the hospitals and taking care of every kind of patients, certainly carries bacteria on the suit. It is best not to wear them in public and only in the hospitals. Even at hospitals they need to be very careful because some patients even get infected even through small bacteria's or fungi. Thanks for sharing this information.
