On the positive side, this was the best vet visit I've ever had with this cat. Because of my warnings that my cat is EXTREMELY anxious with strangers, they treated her so gently and so well. I was amazed. My cat still wasn't happy, but at least the vet was able to examine her much more than we'd expected.
She took bloodwork because she just isn't sure what's going on. From feeling around, things felt okay, although my cat is very skinny and she's worried about that. Could be thyroid, so that's one thing being tested from bloodwork they've taken. The vet will call me on Monday.
I have two medications for her - one is to stimulate her eating and the other is for nausea. Of course, as soon as we got home, she went to her food bowl and ate a little bit and then went and drank some water. Both very good signs.
So, more waiting. We're both so glad to be home. I tried giving her medication once and she almost clawed me to death, so I'm letting her rest before trying again. I'm waiting for the mailman to come and then I'm headed for a nap. I'm exhausted!

I hope you kitty will be okay. Giving medication to a cat is never fun. Good luck with that.

I could use a few more hands for that job! I think I'm going to have to wrap her up in a towel to do it. ugh.

Thanks, Judy. She's sleeping off the bad experience she had there.

If we had discovered a problem much earlier, I'm sure that would have been the case with my cat, too. I don't know for sure, of course, but things look so dire right now. I'd love to think that the vet can perform a miracle here. It's wonderful that your cats were able to live their lives with the meds! And yes, I know how they love destroying furniture! lol

We used to wrap our cat tightly in a towel before trying to medicate her. It will be hard on your own. Good luck.

Oh the poor kitty. I don't like going to the vet, even if the vet does say I'm handsome. Hope everything is okay.
