Lessons in pain

April 17, 2017 8:29pm CST
Oftentimes, we think pain only gives us negativity. Partly, yes it does. But come to think of it, for every pain we encounter in our life, comes with the greatest lesson. We suffer the same kind of pain, because we refuse to learn from our mistake. We encounter pain, to teach us lessons in life which wasn't taught at school or at home. Pain that makes us a better person than yesterday. So be thankful when we experience pain, because it makes us human, it makes us better, it makes life worth living.

Emotional pain can be a good way to learn something. Are you hurting right now?

Phillip Yancy and Dr Paul Brand wrote an excellent book, "The Gift of Pain." It shows that pain is important because it reminds us to prevent further damage. People with Leprosy lose extremities, in part because they don't feel pain.

A deep thought and all very true, maybe except for physical pain which I'm not sure it really teaches us anything except to be careful to not get hurt.

Yah, except for physical pain...

Well I guess, for physical pain, we have some interventions and we need to be extra careful.

@lclacambra Yes, but what about physical pain that's inevitable? Like going through a surgery? In surgery you have to go through the physical pain to get better.

That's a topic on pain...I hope we can use lots of pain-killer to ease away all the pain in our life.

I hope so...I guess for this scenario, the greatest pain killer for psychological pain in our life would be double the dosage of time, for pain acceptance within ourselves, and increase the dosage of forgiveness to those who have hurt us. And for maintenance, it should always be supplemented by prayer. God bless you.
