MyLot - what's up with the Hot Discussions list?

United States
April 18, 2017 9:38am CST
I always check the Hot Discussions list and I did so a few minutes ago. I have always been under the impression you only stay on that list 24 hours. I see there is a post that has been there since April 16th. While math isn't my strong suit, I know that from 4/16 to day is more than 24 hour. Is this a glitch or have the parameters changed? Maybe @GoAskAlice can help with this? Photo from Pixabay

@AbbyGreenhill The ones that look like they get 'stuck' mean they keep getting new responses and comments even after a few days after they were first submitted.

I can't be sure , but maybe 24 hours would be the limit for posts in the top rated section.

It's not a glitch. Hot discussions can stay there on the list as long as they get more and more responses. It depends how much time it remains popular among people.

A discussion can go to the top of the hot list no matter when it was posted. All it needs to do is pick up a lot of responses in a 24 hour period. If we all jumped on a 2 year old discussion we could make that go hot too. So basically it is responses in a 24 hour period but it doesn't have to have been posted in the last 24 hours.

@AbbyGreenhill it was posted on the 16th. maybe it just started picking up a lot of responses in the last 24 hours....could have been posted ages ago and only just started picking up more responses than other discussions.

I can see that your question was already answered, but just to make it official, a discussion is considered "hot" as long as it is currently receiving a certain amount of activity (though I don't know exactly what level of activity is required)

@goaskalex_admin my name is christian, I have a little challenge and I need your assistance to overcome it. it's about not being able to receive payments via PayPal, and therefore not being able to receive payments from myLot. this is because PayPal does not fully grant PayPal privileges to my country. So, I want to know if I could use the PayPal account of a mylotter from a country with full PayPal privileges. that would ultimately mean that my myLot account and the person's myLot account would be using the same PayPal account. the person would have the option to send me the equivalent with neteller or bitcoin, please respond, thanks.

@AbbyGreenhill Remember what they said about the cat's curiosity. It killed it, though yeah, satisfaction brought it back, so hopefully you'll get the satisfaction coming your way.

To tell the truth it isn't a spot that I go to regularly. However, I also thought that it was a 24 hour limit.

@AbbyGreenhill All discussions will go through the Top Rated list in their first 24 hours. The listing is based on the number of Likes received. Discussion with most Likes within the 24 hours period will be at the top of Top Rated list.

This is a direct quote from admin from months ago: Top Rated discussions are those that have received the most likes in the last 24 hours. Hot discussions are those that have received the most responses within the last 24 hours, regardless of when they were posted.
