We are actually making plans for next school year, and the caseload we know about. Of course it can all change in a blink of the eye. There are some classroom moves in the works as well. We have about five more weeks of school this year. Time really flies.

You may have more snow days than we do, or more time off scheduled in. We are based on what used to be the agricultural schedule of the region.

Wow it is hard to believe the school year is ending so soon, I think here we go longer, we don't get out to mid to late June.

I think Kansas and Oklahoma are stuck in the cycle that originally had the kids out before harvest to work on family farms. So the farms are gone but the schedule is still in place.

It does seem odd that school will be letting out soon. It seems like it was so recent that Christmas was just over.

I remember when I was in school that we went until the end of May and then started again after Labor Day. In the north and northeast students go to school on into June.

@GardenGerty I don't think I'd like staying in school until June.

It is always good to be organized and know what to expect as much a head of time as possible. It really helps things run smoothly. Especially good when you are dealing with children.

@celticeagle absolutely. We plan environments, and for equipment, and for classroom integration with regular education.

I was thinking you told me that you were only working this school year as that's what you needed to earn enough to pay off one specific bill that needed to be taken care of.

That was my original intent. I then spent more money trying to keep a car to drive than I earned in five months.I have also found that the benefits outweigh the negatives on working. I will sign a new contract and work at least one more year. I like my team.

Err……I don't know whether to answer your question in front of the author. In China, students (from primary school to college students) have a summer vacation of two months (July to August). Primary and secondary school students have two kinds of winter vacation, the southern region for three months (December to next year in January), the northern region for the month of the year (from January to February), the college students' winter vacation for the three and a half months.

@jidnne Those seem very long holidays. Mostly in Australia, students (up to the end of high school - 17/18 years old) get two weeks in April/May, two weeks around July/August and perhaps six weeks from a bit before Christmas to early February.

@JudyEv Some schools in the US run on a schedule like yours, in a way. @jidnne it is fine with me for you to join in and answer. That way we know how things are where you live. Here in Central Kansas, in the US, our students are done before the last week of May. (May 24). School will officially resume around the middle of August. Some students are enrolled in Summer School. Our teacher would like to start summer school around August 1, to help transition the students that attend into full school days more easily. I will have nine to ten weeks off work before summer school.

@GardenGerty Yes, it does. And I remember that even though I still had to work during the summer, it was such a letdown after the kids all left.

Are you working at the school, or just actively involved with your kids' school?

Hi, Kelli M my kids are both adults, one is forty. I have been working in a "structured classroom" since late August. The students have unique special needs. In all I have twenty five years experience with special needs persons, infant through elderly and this job was a perfect fit.

Yeah. I remember the first time I went to school, but now I'm going to graduate from junior high school. Cherish the wonderful time of students! Maybe you think the teacher is too strict, some students too annoying, parents sometimes take the exam results are very important...... Everything in our school days can make us feel stressed and even disgusted. But when we graduate from college and never go to school again, we may...... Miss the time to do a student, but also want to sit in front of the classroom notes. Cherish it

I enjoy working in the school, much more than I like attending it as a child. I have taken some vocational courses in the past and I really liked that. I love to learn.
