I am sure that you will be delighted to have a rattan bag. It is one of the local products in the Summer Capital of the Philippines. The size and shape vary from one design to another. It is native rattan bag that resembles a backpack. Most tourists from different places love to have one. If ever you visited my city, it is worth to have a rattan bag while on travel in the Philippines. I have this in the house if ever I will have short distance travel.

one friend requested me a bag similar to this. i had to ask a former student, now a colleague, to buy one, and my friend can just pick it up in Manila. my friend said it was good.
i had to pay my former student with PhP500 through LBC.
latest i heard from this 'former friend of mine', the bag is already worn out.

@ridingbet if the rattan backpack was 480 before and you paid 500 via courier (LBC), that would be almost 1000 pesos (20 dollars).

that's exactly how my mother used it when we still had that rattan backpack. she would put food in it when she traveled back to her hometown.

@Shavkat Is this only found in Baguio only? It just made me remember the big native box used as a luggage before, do you remember? I guess that is sturdier compared to the boxes now LOL!

You would pay a high price for this kind of bag over here Shavkat.
It is really a lovely handcraft of the locals there.
