Monthsary in work

I have been working for a month now. And even when i am a new entrant, I can't get rid of conflict.
I don't have problem with them (some of my colleagues) and a her (a supervisor). She got a problem with me that I did not know of when I joined the company. She was hurt because she was demoted a step. And them were afraid because of my title and nature of work as if I was terrorizing them. I really reached out for them and her but they were distant. I have to do my job still.
And I was thinking ... conflicts are present at this time what more when I'll be a regular?..

Anybody who was demoted would feel terrible. But how come she was demoted? I can't seem to understand the demotion because in my country that is a violation of the labor laws because our workers are protected by the security of tenure law. So any form of demotion is illegal.

@toniganzon She was assigned to this position before but I think she didn't handled it well. I heard so many rumors and I came across to it actually. I got problems following her work. And maybe she is bitter I guess, I was commended by OM and Accounting Head for doing her backlog in 4 months work in two to three weeks. She was assigned to a different position which the Accounting Head says it is one step lower than mine.

@gigil_etb You deserved that job and it's a natural reaction on her part despite of her incompetence. But in our labor law, no demotion is allowed for that. Her position may be changed but there should be no changes in her salary. I don't know from which country are you, but in my country it's illegal.

Sometimes that happens in the workplace. You are handling it well. I am thankful that we all get along at work. It makes for a lot better atmosphere. I hope it all works out for you there.
