I was as a cafe recently where a man came to have coffee, and the waiter went up to him with the coffee but by mistake slipped and fell. The man got up and started thrashing and kicking the waiter. I was right there. Being a woman i didnt care how people would judge me. I went up to the man and slapped him. I told him this is not the way how you behave and he got so embarassed that he left the cafe. I know the waiter made a mistake but thrashing and kicking him wont make you a man. Everyone has bad days. It was waiters bad day. But everyone makes mistakes.
p.s update :- I seriously wouldnt have hit the man. I firstly told him to stop hitting. He wouldnt stop. He kept on hitting the waiter. The waiters nose was bleeding. He kept kicking him on the floor. Since everyone was watching it like a circus, i had to step in. I called the cops too, but by the time they would come, the waiter would be in the hospital. The waiter was a 17 or 18 year old and the man was around 30 i guess. I think i took the right step.
Highly disappointing and disheartening.

that is bad. it is good the man was not also kicked by other men, sympathizing with the waiter.

there is no need to maul the waiter if he was not scalded by the hot coffee, or injured by the broken cup and saucer. i'm also sure he would not be charged double if they gave him a second coffee.
it's terrible that everyone just watched as if the waiter deserved it. what if it was their son? brother? friend?
and why did the restaurant staff and owner not even intervene as this went on in their establishment?

People seem to be afraid, or desensitized when it comes to these kind of situations.

That is just terrible. Mistakes happen. Yes maybe the man was having a bad day also and sure he could be upset but there is not excuse ever to physically attack another person. Just awful behaviour.

So brave of you to have interrupted and slapped the man.
I don't think I would have the courage to slap that man at all. I would however interfere and call the police and have him arrested for the case of physical injuries.

Maybe it's also the man's bad day but what he did is not proper. It's good you're here to defend the poor waiter.

Have you see that happen before? That is horrible. I hope the waiter will be ok and wonder if he will press charges?
