I Will Finish It First

These days seem to be the busiest days of my life.A couple of my colleagues have been snuffering from fever for the last five days and the manager has asked me to do their works too apart from my own.
For last five days I have not watche'd my favourite TV programmes.And for last three days I have been almost completely inactive on mylot too.
Now I am exhausted.My body wants to take rest.My mind wants to relax, watch my favourite TV programmes and yes, join you here on mylot.
But my work is still not finished.I have to finish it first.Without finishing my work,I would not be able to relax and enjoy my free time.I have decided to finish my work first.My favourite TV programmes can wait and so can mylot.
I will finish my work first.

Even my boss is the same. Always allocating tasks which are beyond my job description to me. But i cannot complain and must get the job done else he might give me a negative review in my appraisal. But you sure did some good job that your boss was so pleased and gave you three days off. That is the reward of your hardwork

@Nawsheen LOL!! Bosses seem to be the same all over the world.So far I have somehow managed to remain in his good book,but it's not easy.I have to make sacrifices to please him.However,as a famous adage goes,"No pain,no gain."LOL!! If I want to gain something,I have to pay for it by inflicting "pain" on myself. You ( and myself too) may call it reward though.

@Nawsheen You are right.My boss is of a different kind.....Hey, you deserve a thanks from me, for you have given me an idea.I should initiate a discussion about my boss.He's a hard taskmaster,but,at the same time, a....Sorry,let me stop here and write a post about him.....Tons of thanks once again for the idea.
i hope you do not get sick from being overworked too. Do they even pay for overtime?

you must do your work but not at the expense of your health, if you need a rest take a rest even if its just 5 minutes. work is important but so is looking after yourself.

Absolutely right.Let me inform you I'm not careless about my health.The workload has not prevented me from having physical exercises.I do yoga everyday and go out for long evening walks.I have finished the major part of my work and what remains will be finished in a day or two.

I have to finish some files that are pending because my colleagues are on sick leave now.Unless the work is completed,I can't enjoy anything.Like you,I also give priority to my work.

That's what I'm doing now.It would take me a day or two to finish the work I'm asked to do.
