OOPS! - MAYBE I SHOULDN'T HAVE.

Five questions about following: (1) What makes you decide to follow someone?
(2) Would location be of any importance?
(3) Do you decide to follow after reading - two, six, or ten of that member's posts?
(4) Have you ever experienced an oops! moment - when you wonder if you have made a mistake - and wish you hadn't followed?
(5) Would you then totally ignore that person - or leave the occasional comment?
What do you say?

1) Having read several posts I liked.
2) No. Why should that be of importance in the virtual world?
3) The numbers don't matter. One brilliant post could be enough.
4) No. I don't take the following thing too seriously. I don't want to feel obliged to read someone's post. I prefer picking interesting posts from the Recent Discussions list.
5) Where's the problem? If you feel that you've chosen the wrong member, you unfollow them.
Hope that helps.

I follow people if they write something I'm interested in.
Maybe it'd be a single discussion or a combination of discussions and responses.
For me location has a bit to do with it as I'll generally follow most UK people as I come across them no matter what they write.
Outside of UK members location has no impact on me following anyone.

@JolietJake I'd forgotten all about approving friends
I like new mylot just fine but do miss the old days quite a lot
I wish they'd bring back just one section here and it'd be the nasty section...where it was 18+ and we could have knock down drag out verbal wars
Not that we had a nasty section back then but a combination of politics and religion got nicely nasty

@JolietJake I need to do that.
Just some people I've added on the basis of location and a couple of discussions that aren't really doing it for me anymore.

I don't pay attention to the "follow" button anymore. I do look at the "Most recent discussions" and see what interesting subjects there are and read some and interact with anyone whose subject grabs my attention. If anyone replies to one of my posts, sooner or later, I will comment on one of their posts. I cannot get involved with every post as time is limited.

@Kandae11 I find it much easier to get involved with a discussion that asks a question then one that just makes a statement.

Although many of us follow others, it seems the easiest thing to do is respond to those who comment on your posts and to comment on the new articles as they are published.

Quantity doesn't matters but quality does.
I think its the universal platform to learn and exchange knowledge.
Sometimes appericiation plays a lot important.
Even if you pick the wrong person give him room to correct himself..
Otherwise we have an option to simply block him

@Kandae11 Its totally about one's way of analysis. Some likes experiment with if-else clause while others are more straight forward and do not need any acceptions

When I first joined this site, I thought it was important to follow people to help with interactions and earnings. Now I see that it is not necessary to follow anyone, if you pay attention to most recent discussions, or hot discussions, you can usually follow along with what everybody on this site is posting. Now, with that being said, I do have a few favorites on this site that I am glad I am following! But I have no hard and fast rule that determines when I do or don't follow someone. I guess it just depends on how I feel on that particular day! lol

@Kandae11 I've often wondered how many of my followers are still even using this site anymore? I agree with you...probably half of them are not even here anymore!

I have one person here that I don't bother to give reply. He got 72 discussion and less interaction. I don't follow him either

@Kandae11 Yeah. I don't reply on his post. When he asked for a tip, we gave him and still Didn't do it. He thought the response from other will give him earnings.

I want to follow people solely on if we have pleasant interactions and if we like the same things (if that comes across in any of our discussions) otherwise I probably won't follow someone.
Location doesn't matter to me, I love meeting people from all over the world!

I follow people if I find them interesting. It's usually when someone's followed me, or I happen to have come across an interesting discussion of theirs. I'll have a look at their profile. Location isn't really important although it sometimes has a bearing on whether I follow or not (but not often). Sometimes I will read just one post, other times I'll read a few before I decide to follow. It depends on how interesting they are and on their other activity. No, I have never thought I'd made a mistake in following someone. Mostly because I forget who I'm following! I will try to comment on those I follow but won't usually go out of my way to do so nor would I be less inclined to comment on someone I don't follow.

I decide to follow someone by their discussions being interesting to me or their comments/responses being friendly or funny.
I wait until I have read a few of their discussions or comments so I can kind of tell what their about.
If I made a mistake I just unfollow the person, which I have only done a couple times and for good reason.

Sometimes their location appeals to me, also similar likes and interests , a good read is nice too. If I made a mistake and followed someone that I shouldn't, I would just unfollow.

I rarely follow people, althought it looks like I do if you search ...its just not important, I have only so much time here so I focus on those who comment on my discussions and wander around only when I have extra time. Location doesn't matter to me, if someone is always commenting and I notice I haven't followed I usually will follow, I have un followed a few that disappeared, I always return comments, its my way of keeping connected.
