We will have a trip to Japan in summer holiday and therefore I am planning the trip recently. I found a hot spring place in Tokyo. I read something about it. Hard to believe that the people who have tattoo are not allowed. I like to try it but we may not go there because I don't get used to soak in hot spring naked. Here we wear in swimming suits and it is less embarrassing.

If you like hot springs, come to the Philippines, a place called Los Baños, its a safe place, very near Metro Manila, the whole place is hot spring underneath, there are so many resorts you can choose from, you can even rent a house with private pool with water from hot spring if you are after privacy

Nice to hear that there are hot springs in your country. This is very attractive! Actually here people prefer to soak in the hot springs in cold weather. But I am different, although it is comfortable to soak in the hot springs, but it will be cold to get out from the springs when it is in autumn or even winter

@youless its better here because the temperature is just right, now its summer, it's too hot so you can get night swimming tickets. During the cold season, it is still fine because it is not as cold here than in Japan or China so it would just be right when you get out of the spring

Actually you can put on your swim suit too. Nobody is going to stop you. Just be prepare for the price of food there. Compared to food, cosmetic seems cheap.

@youless In this case, give it a miss. It is not as if getting soak in the hot spring is so special that you must go for it.

I don't know. Perhaps they look like criminals?

It might seem weird, especially to those of us who live in countries where tattoos are becoming more and more widely accepted, but in Japan tattoos have a heavy association with the yakuza. They're so tightly intertwined with the idea of a criminal lifestyle that the idea of tattoos as a form of body art for the purpose of individual expression doesn't really compute for many Japanese people.

According to the movies, the Japanese bad gangs have lots of tattoo for their whole body. So sometimes the people who have tattoos may be judged as bad guys.

Maybe there are other hot springs where tattoos are allowed.
