Going to my first LGBT Meeting

So for about 10 months me and several other Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans people have met and discussed issues that effect us. And shared events and and were open as a safe place for even those still closeted.
Well we have decided today to be our first in face meeting I am super nervous as it feels like a first date, I hope everything goes well and this isn't the first and last meeting.

I think everyone would find it rewarding to actually meet in person those that they have only met online. Am I understanding it right, those meetings were online? I think it's a great idea to meet. You can't shake hands, hug, or rub someone's back virtually and physical contact--even eye contact--is a great way to bond and build trust.
I hope it's a great first meeting and one of many.

Yes we have mutual friends, and some I have seen around but as far as meeting no we haven't but we are all local....

Yes and it is a group and they are going to be looking to me for guidance and I am not any more well qualified then them.....

We all got together after we heard about the Pulse Night Club shooting we were all very angry and afraid, we are supposed to be ourselves and going to a club is one of the few places we feel so free to he open and kiss our lover and hold them tight so hearing that a place like that was attacked rocked us all to the core we had planned to meet sooner but it was so hard to find time....

thats a great idea. what are you nervous about? hopefully they are the people they say they are. now i am nervous also. be careful that these are who they say they are. do you know any from real time/ your area that is?
