I just watched a friends video of how they are teaching their daughter to walk, They would put a toy at the end of the sofa and she would pull herself up and walk , using the sofa to hold onto and get the toy.
Someone else later asked who taught you to ride a bike?
Me?
My oldest brother taught me to walk, its strange that I remember this light on a pole and when I told him about it he said " You would pull up and hold the pole and I would tell you, "come get me and you would walk to me."
Growing up with three older sibling I wanted to do everything they did, I was the fly in their soup :) and I had one younger to teach all the bad they had taught me. One year for Christmas we got a bicycle each and training wheel in place, so those wheels taught us to stay upright.
Skating? Mom bought us skates, my sister fell and hurt herself so no more skates but when I was around 13 years old it was the skating rink every Friday or Saturday night, I learned easily and I do not think my sister ever did more than hold the rail.
Now who taught you?

I do not remember but I would say it was my Dad.
My Mom seemed to have no patience.
I taught myself the bike I think but to walk it was probably my Dad.

Considering I"m 69 and walked at a year I really don't remember. My father put me on a Schwinn no training wheels and said pedal...I did and I rode instantly. Every kid had skates we all probably taught each other.

I remember my dad teaching me to ride a bike. The only place I could learn was on a gravel road. It was pretty scary I seem to recall.

We like the things generally what our elders do
So its good to play a positive role in front of our youngers.

You're lucky to have elder brothers.. and it's really amazing that you remember the first time you started walking..

Wow that's amazing. While reading your post I started thinking about those things I have learnt from others. Strange .... Nothing. Having 2 big brothers with me I actually never learnt anything from them or I don't remember may be.
