Do you read till midnight for an exam you have the next day?
I know most people do this, some students will set a whole week; no rest no sleep only to read, expecting a better result
however, this is not the gateway to excellence, excellence is a function of a quality time you read...
how do you ensure your children keep a healthy studying culture? a culture that is not detrimental to their performance? should they withdraw from PE to keep track of their studies or should they do both....

getting enough sleep helps our brain cells into retaining things that we see, and read.

I think it's bad if you sacrifice your sleeping time. I know I've tried and it only made me forget what I've been studying.

It is not good to read sitting late nights. It. is enough to memorize the things you read
