Did you ever have one of those moments?

I remember years ago when I was on my way home from some place and I was driving alone. I was on a road with a high speed limit so I was moving pretty fast. This was many years ago when I was a lot younger. It was dark and no lights lit up anywhere. I went down a street that had no barriers and I thought it was strange as I didn't see any other cars on the road going either way. As I continued down the road I saw barriers in the road that someone moved to the side and luckily I stopped short. It was a good thing that I stopped as there was a big ditch in front of me. Besides being scared and relieved that I didn't go in the ditch, I thought that possibly some kids moved the barriers because they thought it was funny. That is one day I will never forget and so thankful that someone was watching over me.

@Shavkat To many of us run around so much and we don't realize there is always danger lurking somewhere.

That was a scary experience. This was during pre-cellphone times? Good that you were observant of the surroundings and your alert mind took notice of those barriers.

I never even thought about cell phones back in those days. I am certainly glad we have them now.

I don`t drive, but when I am in a bus these things happen from time to time.

That must be awful on a bus with other people.

@Alternative4 That is good. I guess the bus drivers are trained to help passengers not feel so stressful.

It can be unpleasant. But the bus driver is always making the best out of the situation.

I have run into a ditch before on a backroad where some neighborhood kids had removed all the signs on the road and thought it'd be funny for someone to crash their car. My car and I were not humored

Oh my! Well thank goodness you did stop!! That not-even one second decision made a huge difference to the outcome. How scary to think about the "what if" !

That was quite lucky, you definitely have someone watching over you i've never driven before but there were times when the driver stopped so abruptly (it was in a bus and i was with my high school classmates) good thing my position was god enough that i didn't get bruised.. my other friends weren't so lucky
