COPIED WORD FOR WORD.

I have heard a lot about plagiarism , but over the four years since I have been writing online, I haven't been a victim (not that I am aware of) - until this morning.
I was going through the recent discussions, and clicked on a post to read. Imagine my shock when I realized that I was reading my recent post "The Right Time" - reposted word for word. The title was different but the body of the post was exactly the same.
I clicked on the poster's profile and saw that she is a nineteen - year old who joined Mylot today. What I find hard to understand is how someone could choose a post from the top of the top rated - copy it word for word , repost it on the same site - and expect to get away with it?

It happened to me on Bubbs. The person copied the entire post including the photo! It was like looking in the mirror when I saw it.

with bubblews cheating may have been worth it considering amounts some were paid.
On mylot cheating is beyond stupid as the effort put into cheating would be better spent being a decent member.

She is new and maybe does not understand MyLot. Maybe she thinks it's like Facebook where you can share something that someone posts.

@Kandae11 Thank you! I don't disagree with you and you are right. Is that post still up?

@1hopefulman If that is the case on facebook - then the first thing I would look for would be the share button on Mylot. I realize you are being diplomatic.

That is so wrong, as no one ha a right to copy someone else's post and make it their own. She is taking the easy way out and finding discussions to repost so she doesn't have to think of any herself. That is crazy, and you can bet that the admin will do something about it, She apparently didn't read the guidelines. The rest of us don't copy from others, so what makes her think that she can.
When I can't come up with a discussion to post, I won't post one until I do. I would never think about taking someone else's work and make it my own. It is so wrong on all levels. I just hope that she is stopped before she does it o others.

@Kandae11 I certainly agree with you there. I just hope that it doesn't continue and she plagiarizes others discussions. It is so stupid to do that. She could come up with a discussion if she would just think about it for while. I will wait until I think of one before I post one The discussions that people post are there own thoughts, and no one has a right to take those thoughts and make them their own.

Since she is a newbie perhaps you could guide her about the wrong she has done - just saying.

They do it because they are stupid
Just report it and it'll go.
Personally I'd also heavily abuse them

@Kandae11 If that will create an impact, whoever is that will earn cents... unless it's not reported.
Of course that activity must be stop and reported.

The very same thing happened to me back in 2010 my discussion was also copied word for word and posted here.
Another member found it and told me about it.of course the copied post was removed and the person who did this was banned.
IMO, this can't get much crazier or stupider , but there's no accounting for what some people will try to get away with

I sometimes wonder whether people find out this is a site that pays and they've no idea of the concept of writing from their heart and something not found elsewhere. Otherwise, why is it that so many newbies try the very same thing? On the other site we were on many that copied and pasted did the title and kept the original author's name intact too which was also weird to see.
I don't think some countries emphasize the need for original content even in the schools.

@Kandae11 We know it's wrong, but there are some countries that don't teach the specifics of that. In fact, in America even in the last ten or more years many students will contact different organizations that will write papers for them for a price. What students don't seem to realize that even if they pay for that service, it's not 'their' original content and many colleges still consider it to be a form of plagiarism even though it may only be written for them.
I was on a different type of writing site years back that helped people better their craft. One gal didn't seem to understand what plagiarism even was. It took me a long time to instruct her and she was interested in learning just didn't seem to understand the concept. That's why a lot of times I think many aren't taught. It also may have to do with English not being a natural language for them, and maybe there's not a related word for plagiarism in their own language. I don't know.

@MarshaMusselman I may be wrong. but I think in any language taking what is not yours without consent is stealing - and we are taught that it is wrong to steal.
