What was the most exotic food you have ever tasted?

May 2, 2017 4:10pm CST
Yesterday I went to dinner with my boyfriend and we ordered something very exotic: Banana Peel. The restaurant was vegan and the dish was very well prepared and well seasoned. It didn't even look like banana peels! Researching about banana peel later, I discovered that there are several vegan recipes made with banana peel, seemingly very good as well as tasty, the banana peel is very nutritious. I'm definitely going to try some homemade recipe lol

@danielasilva This dish was steamed in banana leaves. I just don't remember what it was..it was years ago. I have had some exotic dishes that the Hare Krishna prepared too, as well as a variety of Indian and Thai foods, however, if it is something I might not like..I won't go for it. It has to be something that sounds good.

@danielasilva Good point. Since when a banana peel is exotic?

@KristenH Since when is it served as food. I always see people discarding the banana peel, not eating. And from what I've seen, it's a habit. No one says you have to eat banana peel, you don't see banana peels separately in the supermarket, except in the trash. It is not only a cultural and social issue, but it is also sustainable and revolutionary. It's exotic to ME because it was a discovery.

@danielasilva I didn't know that it is a turtle soup. I had attended a celebration party that time.

Banana peel doesn't sound that exotic haha it is not common but I guess since I have had meals with orange peels in it, it doesn't really strike me. Now I really haven't had much exotic food. I almost had fish ice cream, it was purple, but we decided to go somewhere else haha
