What would be the first thing you would look at when you are buying an item in the supermarket? - brand - country of origin - content of product - picture on the label - expiry date - price - kind of packaging There is no right or wrong. Different people have different priority in picking up the product. What would be your sequence before deciding which one you may want?

depends what i'm buying. if it's bread, the expiry date. if it's home improvements/appliances, the quality. if it's personal hygiene(shampoo, perfume, etc.), mostly the smell. but i'm not really into brands, i always go for what's reasonable -- budget and quality wise.

For food products, mostly expiry date is important. Shops are not allowed expired products on shelves. However, sometimes shops may overlooked so it is always good to check before buying.

What the product is, if I like it, and the expiration date.

First I make a list of what all I want, I don't pick anything randomly. Then comes brand, price, expiry date

Price first - but if the item is expired I won't buy it even if it's heavily discounted.

Sometimes they have promotional price for selected items, I just like it. Over here, shops are not allowed to display / sell expired items.

Country of origin first, because, like many, I want to make sure that as far as possible, locals are kept in jobs- particularly for fresh produce. I would really really love it if there were far less packaging for many goods. If it's a product I am not familiar with, I like to check how much rubbish is in it -additives, sugar, salt, preservatives, etc etc.

Fresh products are most fresh from locals... as they do not involve long travelling time too.
