A dilemma..

India

I always loved cooking and it's just one thing that makes me calm if I am depressed or angry at something.. I love to make different varieties of food..but I don't know if I should make it my career.. My friends tell me that if I do something that I love for rest of my life, I'll be happy.. but I am scared.. I invested money in coaching for MBA entrance exams.. I don't know what to do.. should I follow my dream or just follow the money..

@prashu228 You are still the captain of your life. Whatever the decision is, take the responsibility for it.

if you feel you invested lots of money in entrance exams, then you can follow your dreams while doing MBA also, no harm .

I think you should follow your dream especially when it's something that calms you down, it'd be good to have a career focused on that. I know it can be scary to take a risk but i can tell you from experience for about 2 years I chased my dream of being a wrestler, it's been put on hold for a little bit, but there wasn't much money to be made but the memories and experiences were great and not something I would trade. You'll have time to go after money, it's important to go after your dream and happiness to make a living like that. I hope it works out for you!

@Slayqueen Def! Happiness is more important than making a ton, besides you can probably make money at it anyway since you're good at it. You're welcome :)

If you wish to follow your dream then go for it. Meanwhile you can do something as side for making money. It is not a big issue doing multi tasks. Best of luck.

Personally I would have preferred to do something that I like. Since you have invested so much for your MBA i think you must go forward with it. You can also carry on with your cooking. Make it a part time job

You can do both the things together. Cooking if is your hobby then you may do it at home. Professionally if you want to do it then you should think it again as sometimes taking quick decisions may be proved wrong later on.

how do you plan to make money from cooking? like do you see yourself as a chef (ex. at a 5-star hotel) or operating your own restaurant?
