Yes & No.
The typical 'unknown fortune'-meaning of the words is "good for children." But as you get older, you become more-&-more aware that your one fortunate circumstance is the result of choices of--not only you, but also--dozens-or-hundreds-or-millions of other people (most of whom will never even be aware they had anything to do with you).
That's why we thank God. Not because 'God' did anything except "create the universe (giving it the laws that resulted in the manifestation of the people & things that had a part in bringing us our good fortune).

If we work hard to acheive anything with full conviction...that becomes our destiny but when we leave things to accomplish things randomly...that becomes fate?
