~Not Carded Anymore~

Hey everyone! I hope your doing well today. I was just thinking about when I was younger-in my 20's I would always get carded (had to show my ID) when I went in to get my husband's dip or my cigs. I always took it as a compliment because I looked young! Then something happened...I hit 30 years old and no one carded me anymore for things! (Yes I know they are always supposed to-but they usually don't if you look old enough). I am sad that I no longer look young enough to be carded! When did you stop getting carded? The pic is of me 3 years ago

I think I had the same feeling. My baby face can no longer deceive other people. I think it ended two years ago.

I got carded last weekend in Tampa when I went out to a bar with friends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I just looked at the bouncer and said, "Are you kidding? Look at my hair. It's starting to go gray." He turned bright red and just waived me in.

@LovingMyBabies I hate being carded now because I keep my drivers license buried deep down in my wallet somewhere, and it's always hard for me to dig out and show! haha

It was pretty much the same for me. I looked much younger than my age until I was about 30, so going to clubs was always funny because I'd get carded, but other people with me, even younger people, did not!

By looking at the picture i always thought you are in your early 20's, that's the reason i asked you ,how many children do you have , when you posted about children. you look so young..

I can believe that. You are very youthful looking-and yes, that IS a compliment! I got carded until I was 29 or 30 and then it all stopped. I remember when I was 49 a waitress taking our order while we were eating out asked if I was ordering the seniors breakfast-I wasn't 55, and still am not. I was upset and asked my husband not to leave a tip, but of course he did. And then a month ago we were both offered the seniors meal, and neither of us are 55, but we took it and laughed quietly with each other.

I sadly have not gotten carded in a couple of years and I will be 30 this year. My husband who is already 30 only recently started to not get carded. I feel so old ughh! I loved getting carded. Made me feel like I still looked young. Not anymore I suppose.

Good lord you don't look anything near 30. I usually tease the till worker telling her she has spoilt my day but not asking me for mine. They usually fall about laughing!

@garymarsh6 Lol that is too funny! I am more on the serious side which is why my husband is perfect for me because he is a jokester and keeps me laughing. =) He helps me to stay young mentally too-but not too young.

@LovingMyBabies Don't be like me though and keep your mental age of 8. I can't help myself! Even my grand daughter told me the other day when I was teasing her (she is six) One day you will grow up! That floored me I can tell you!

I always afraid of wearing jeans. Whenever I go and ride the police catch me and ask for all documents. I am really afraid of it. I do not want to mess up the thing stopping the things and give an opportunity to them to check my ID etc., So whenever I go on my bike I wear some casual dress and that too do not keep the shirt tucked. This is another problem as the stomach is totally flat and they would take me for a student of 28 years.

oh I don't remember. Probably sometime around 30. I got carded last year at a chain restaurant somewhere and I laughed in the waitress' face. I was 39 and certainly didn't look anywhere close to 21.

For one reason or another, I've rarely been carded. And I know I do look younger than I really am. I am not sure why, but very few times have I been asked to show ID.

@dodo19 Oh wow that is surprising! I used to look younger than my age I guess because I was always carded!

I just responded to a comment on my post about Social Security where someone said I didn't look my age. I was carded up until I was almost 30. I was called a little boy when I was 18 (which really ticked me off). But when I got older it was fun having people guessing my age because they always came up younger by at least 5 years.

@LovingMyBabies I certainly didn't like being called a "little boy" when I was 18. And I let the girl that called me that know I was not a little boy.

It has been many many years since I got carded. I was probably 30 the last time I got carded. Since the legal age here is 19 I felt quite flattered.
