I decided to make a beef stew with lots of vegetables in the crockpot this morning.
It will be ready at the end of this afternoon but we won't eat it until tomorrow as it does taste much better after the flavors have merged together.
Unfortunately, I can't smell the stew cooking as I have lost my sense of smell years ago, but everyone else here is saying that it smells wonderful.
I haven't used my crockpot for a while and I thought it would be a good idea today as it is very gloomy outside.

Beef stew is an excellent choice. I may make a quiche for tonight's meal, but I'm not sure yet.
The weather here is fairly clear with fluffy clouds in a blue sky. It's already 65 degrees without the sun shining on the thermostat. That would be about 20 C. '
After getting up, I called some more customers to try to line something up for next week which is wide open at present; well I guess I did get one person figured in so far this morning. We have three guys wanting to work and I have to wait to see if all those I left messages with will call or not.
My sister lost her sense of smell years ago too. I don't know why one person does and the rest of us don't. *(edited this to add this info, you may get two notifs).

@MarshaMusselman The "not smelling the gas" is what would worry me the most here as we have a gas furnace.

@marlina Yes, if you can't smell gas escaping in your house, I guess it would be. Many people can smell but still discount certain smells anyway.

@andriaperry , Some days I taste pretty good and then some I hardly taste anything. If I close my eyes I wouldn't know what I am eating (on those days)
