Missing my Grandma

My grandma was my best friend growing up. All my memories as a young child included my grandma, Lora. She taught me everything. She taught me the ABC's, how to read, how to garden, how to cook, how to put together a flower arrangement, etc. I spent every week day with her while my parents worked. The best thing was she lived right across the street from my house where I lived with mom and dad as an only child. This is where she continued to reside into my adult years. She was very healthy and self sufficient, even taking care of the 5 acres alone after my grandpa passed. My grandma Lora was (and of course will always be) an amazing lady!! It all came crashing down when she broke her hip. The anesthesia given during her surgery caused an onset of dementia and it was down hill from there. She now resides in a convelescent hospital in California unable to talk or reconize anyone. I wish I could visit her to wish her a Happy Mother's Day!! I
