Good Monday Morning to you all. I was brooding over the fact that so many people go through life telling FIBS (small little lies) that eventually turn out to be the sum of their lives . . . how do they live with themselves.
I wont say that I am innocent, but 99.999% of any misconception of the truth I try and share with someone else, eventually just reveals itself anyway, so I dont bother with any untruths.
So now I move on to share the hilarious story that took me all the way to Waterfall Bluff, which is one of only 3 Waterfalls on the African continent to flow into the sea. It was a long 4km morning hike, but first we had to travel along 4x4 rocky roads for 1.5 hours to reach the huts where we start our hike.
On reaching the huts we met some Bikers that were out for the Holiday Bike run. The were boiling water from the river to make them morning coffee. It was a beautiful day, clear skies, cool weather and not much wind. I took my sneakers out my towel bag which had been sealed and placed in the boot for this first hike. After I put my socks on, I tried to put my foot into the right sneaker . . . No go, so i looked inside to find a FROG looking back at me!!!
Wakakakakakakaka I Screeched so loud and tossed the sneaker out the window of the car at my hubby , cursing all kinds of slogans. The sneaker when flying and so did the FROG! Landed right at my hubbys feet to which he inquired "Whats wrong . . . where did the frog come from?"
You can ask me that again?
Where the hell did this big, fat, ugly, beady eye frog come from?
Who knows but the Bikers thought the whole debacle was very entertaining and thought I was having an altercation with my hubby as I tossed my clothes all about! Well eventually . . . after my heart rate slowed down, I got my sneakers on . . all grossed out at the thought that a frog had chosen my sneaker as its hibernating habitat, and off we set.
I kept up with the men and it seems the adrenaline rush after encountering an amphibian in my shoe had me hiking like a champ.
That night I had terrible nightmares and since then, my new habit in the morning is to check all my shoes in my closet to see if any other strange things are lurking.
For those that know my FEAR of FROG will know what toll my mind suffered after this incident - I tell you no lies!
The waterfall was beautiful and thank goodness the long walk back was my cooling down and calming walk. The place you see in the photo is where the fresh waterfall of the meets the waves of the sea and in another very description writing by Andrew Aitken its a place where you see "The Greatest Shoal on Earth" - sardines!
So on this cool Monday in South Africa I give you a story, a fact and a view.
I hope you enjoy the little slideshow I put together.

while I dont understand that fear (no teeth, they dont bite, etc), if it had been say a spider, I would have done the SAME thing.
