The collapse of feelings

Don't get me wrong, I am not one of those people who think that feelings are the only thing that matters in this world. However, a recent event called to mind the tremendous disassociation that the modern teenager has toward their peers. How can such a horrible thing happen? A life taken too soon. And the response from many was sadness as expected. But there were those who scoffed at the event and poked fun. Have we really evolved into creatures with hardened shells? So used to death and violence that the loss of one of our own barely affects us. I guess that is what should be expected when shows glorify suicide and the practice of cutting. Makes me sick.

I think that being sensitive to other's feelings is a great thing as long as it does not come as a detriment to others.

Our present day society keeps on changing and evolving---I hope it changes and evolves for the better.

That is my hope also. Society must get past all of their judgements and come together as one human race instead of being separated by ideas instilled by an outdated system.

I had a situation the other day where a young man pulled a chair from underneath one of his friends as a prank. The boy ended up getting five staples in his head from the incident. When I asked him why he had done such a thing, he replied that he knew it was something he should not have done, yet he did it anyway. Another example of acting before thinking. Just thankful things didn't turn out worse.
