If you owned a property large enough to house your own private dream library, what would be the titles of the first five books you would put in your collection?
Mine would be:
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Pride and prejudice by Jane Austen
Intrepid Arabia. by Wiliam Darymple
A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught ( even though it is only available in paperback)
The Shadow and the stars Laura Kinsale

Wow, that is a hard one! I love to read, and so I'm reading anything and everything I can get my hands on. So, my library would be quite full of books. As for my first five, I wouldn't even know where to begin. It would probably be whatever topic is tickling my fancy at the moment, or else it would just be the first five books I buy or happen to be reading at the time.

@shebish You and I would get along great then! I'm the same way. I could every hour of every day reading a book. Nothing feels better to me than getting totally absorbed by a book and feeling yourself becoming a part of the story.

What a terrific question!!
1. The Bible
2. An encyclopedia set.
3. A lexicon/dictionary.
4. Complete works of Charles Dickens. (Not just his books but everything he wrote.)
5. Don't have a title but it would be a book containing info about oddities, trivia and fascinating facts.
I like your picks too!

@shebish - I copied my mom. That's what she had in our home library. Only thing is I swapped out her complete works of William Shakespeare for Charles Dickens. What can I say? I like Dickens.

@cmoneyspinner Dickens is a easier read, I have to be in the right mood for Shakespeare.
