Here below are some tips for best results derived from walking: * Get started slowly and do not overdo. Make walking a daily routine. * Do a couple of stretches before starting to walk. * Breathe deeply and rhythmically as you walk; it is the master key to good health. * Swing your arms as you walk briskly. * Vary your walk routine and pace; if possible, jog or run a few minute in-between. It is known to be most beneficial. * Try a different venue to walk each week to avoid boredom. Listening to music or walking with a companion, could be a pleasurable incentive to follow. With a walk-a-day routine, you could soon improve your overall health and experience a renewed zest for living. IMAGE: Courtesy of Pixabay

Walking is fun I agree because afterwards you feel very invigorated. I like to go on walks in different parts of my neighborhood. Finding different beautiful houses and gardens keeps me motivated.

I used to do that earlier Tiara when our city was relatively less congested with traffic and i used to enjoy watching the houses , gardens etc ..But now it is impossible to walk even on the inner roads and residential layouts ..

Jogging or running is not for all ages, I love to walk, but I do not even try to jog or run.

@Gabugs Absolutely NOT, my doctor told me never to run or jog, I have a heart problem and I am 66, walking at a good speed is what I have to do.

Walking has become my daily routine since many years now , except on Sundays. I walk for 40-45 mins in a park nearby where I have made quite a few friends who too are regulars. I enjoy walking at a brisk pace and miss it when I am traveling but make it a point to check out the possibilities when I visit a new place .

It depends on the individual. We have some who can barely move, so their pace is way slower than anything I'd do, but it is still good for them to walk.

You are absolutely right @PatZAnthony Some movement, even for those who cannot walk is important. Its indeed sad for anyone to lose mobility.

It is wise to start slow and gradually increase the lenght of our walks.

@rjain1055 I wonder why!!! It looks like you are glued to the T.V. which [sitting] is not good for your health in the long run.
