This happens to me when my sister or brother are thinking of me. They can hear me call to them, too. When my mom was alive we experienced the same thing.
It is likely that a person who loves you is thinking of you and that's why you think you hear someone calling your name.

@barnathegr8 It is a fact in my family. My sister lives 1800 miles away and I hear her call me. I usually email her when I hear her call me and most of the time she is just remembering something we did or wondering how I am. She does the same when she hears me calling her.
If you have someone you are very close to you should call/email them to see if they are thinking of you. You might find the source of your mystery that way.

Yes, it do happens. Sometimes it may be our subconscious or maybe its the real thing.
