Have you ever looked for something, not realizing you had it in your hand the whole time?

That has happened to me more than once. I have to laugh at myself when it happens, as, I continue to look for something, all the while carrying it aroound the whole time. I was looking for my scissors this morning as I needed them, and sure enough, I had them in my hand. I can always laugh at mysef when I do things like that, and it just goes to show that my age has creeped up on me, but then it most likely happens to others as well. At least I don't hae to worry about others thnking I am crazy, since I live alone anyway. Sometismes I telll myself that I am really losing it, to look for something that I had in my hand all along. Call me senile, just don't call me late for supper.

Oh yes I do it frequently with my keys, and also I will spend ages looking for my sun lasses just to realise they are pushed up on my head.

At least I jknow it isn''t just me. I guess it happens to all of us, and we all can laugh at ourselves sometimes, and wonder if we really are going crazy.

@rosekiss No I think there are many of us do it, my friend once rushed to her doctors because her sight had suddenly become all blurry , she was very embarrassed to find out that she she was wearing her glasses and her contact lenses which she had forgotten to take out.

I expect that everyone would have to admit to having done the same at one time or another.

Yea, i guess so; It was probably embarrassing too i know it would be for me. It would be just like me to look for my slippers, when I am already wearing them.

no, i don't think you are senile now. i believe when there are many things running in your head, that you tend to lose the first priority. i looked for my spectacles this morning. what i did was, i retraced my steps until i found it on the table.

Yes you are right, as I am always thinking about sometthing else when I am looking for a certain item, and it is only when I stop thinking about the other things, that I realize that I had it right there the whole time.

My daughter and I both do it and she is twenty years younger than I am. It's usually my glasses and they are usually on my head. For my daughter it is keys, her cigs, a t-shirt, etc.

I did this just the other day. I had a bunch of things in my hands - and I was in a hurry to get out the door because the kids were already at the car. I was looking for my small list of things to do and I couldn't leave home without it . . . and just when I slipped my flip flops on, I realized it was already in my hands, well tucked under some else .
