I Had a Proud Dad Moment Yesterday.

My oldest daughter had a figure skating competition yesterday morning. She did relatively well, finishing second in both her compulsory category and with her program as well as third in spins. However, my biggest "proud dad" moment came before she even took the ice.
Her first event was one of the first ones and, because of that, she was doing off-ice warm ups with her coach when they kicked off the competition by playing the National Anthem.
The other skaters (and their coaches) pretty much ignored the music and continued to do what they were doing. She, however, stopped her warm up and faced the flag with her hand over her heart, something that surprised her coach a bit but caused her to turn and do the same thing.
Considering she did this without any sort of prompting and did it even though it cut into her warm up time, I couldn't help but feel some fatherly pride. We apparently raised her right.

Yes you certainly did. I am proud of her too for this touching moment.
Fantastic that she did well in the skating too.
Something lacking a lot today is the integrity to stand and face the flag, a true patriot.

That is pretty amazing! That is patriotism, and congrats to her doing so well!
