Why chldren have no many free times for outdoor playing ?

Kids and parents have been led to believe outside is unsafe. It isn't the same world as when we were kids, but that doesn't mean it is unsafe. Kids need to feel safe playing outside and not think it is dangerous.

It is never the child's fault these things happen. Parents, teachers, whoever is in control of raising these kids as soon as they placed an ipad in front of them without limiting them time on it, they are the cause of kids not playing outside or with their toys anymore. When I baby sat my nieces, I actually played with them, we went outside, I taught them sign language, I played dolls with them. Because I was actually paying attention to them. I know it isn't easy for parents to pay attention to their kids 24/7 and that is when an ipad comes in handy, but adults are resorting to this all the time, even when they are not busy. It is unfair and I feel bad for the kids because they are not getting the attention they need.

Today the study pressure is bigger than before. And parents seem to be busier at work than before. And they don't have much time to play with their children. And they also don't feel safe to let them play outside because they may be bad guys, too. So it seems keeping them indoor is the ideal way. Of course it is not good for children. Children need more outdoor activities.

I think kids need time to be kids. Childhood is gone so fast. That's why I chose to home school my kids. They still have time to enjoy being kids. =)

Children now a days miss all those golden days..

I think children should play outside. Today's education system only focuses on the development of brain, but forgets the physical fitness. It's really important. This fitness can be achieved only by playing outside.

i spent my entire childhood at my parent's farm. no internet, less tv, and not much of board games. it was one of the best memories ive had when i was young. i dont blame children spending more time indoors nowadays though with their gadgets. i find it entertaining as well. as long as moderation is there, it's an advantage.

Lucky are we as children because in our times there were real games. Games that we get to enjoy because it involves a lot of running , joking and playing with real playmates. These activities helped us in growing stronger and healthier because we are more mobile. Now, sad that children are just playing through their gadgets. No mobility. Unhealthy.

I think children are so hooked in computer games. I think the parents need to involve their children in outdoor activities as much as possible.

Kids only have less time outside if we the grown ups dont make them go outside.

that's true, when we were children we enter to school when we are age 6 or 7, but now age 3 is already in school attending day care centers for early childhood education, plus the mobile gadgets that really change the childhood.

Many of them have the time to do it and play outside but a lot of them chose not too because there are so many indoor options. A lot from my generation and below are pretty lazy and used to the comfy air-conditioned life with technology and parents who don't care/make them go outside anymore. My parents made my siblings and I go outside to play instead of just sitting inside. My sister-in-law doesn't make her kids do anything active and they both own their own iPad./tablets and stay on them all day. I don't think it is a good habit for the kids. It is one of the reasons why the obesity rates for kids in the U.S. has gotten higher. The schools are even cutting recess and gym times for elementary and middle schools kids here as well and giving all the homework and classwork to them online so it is just increasing their time in front of a screen.

Nowadays, the chicldren has no time to go out to play.Even they have time ,they prefer playing smartphone instead of going out.This is a bad phenomenon for them.
