Very sad news, Olivia Newton-John confirmed the severe back pain she was suffering from is cancer, which has spread to her spine. The pain was a result of Newton-John's earlier breast cancer which returned and spread. Since diagnosed initially with the disease in 1992, she has been an active advocate to promote cancer awareness.
Newton-John is a four time grammy winner and had five #1 singles as a successful 70's singer songwriter. She had a big hit from her movie "Grease" with the pop hit "Your The One That I Want". Such a shock to me that the cancer returned so many years later

Indeed quite sad, and it sounds quite serious (given that it's moved to her spine). I remember her early days when several of her hits ("Let Me Be There," "If You Love Me, Let Me Know") crossed over and were big country hits as well as pop hits. I certainly pray for her treatment to be successful.

Yes, some of her songs were crossover hits such as Please Mr Please and Have You Ever Been Mellow.
Hoping she recovers.
