I Refuse

Today is the first day of June. In a few days it will be summer in the US. The weather this spring has been cool to cold. This week we're getting more spring like and warmer temps, yet my apartment is cool. I'm sitting here in my hoodie with my hood up. I'm freezing. I refuse to turn the heat on. It's June for crying out loud. I live in the northern hemisphere. I don't live down under where temps are supposed to be cooler this time of year. I would like a little bit of heat and a taste of summer temps - just a taste, nothing too hot. Is that asking too much? How's the weather by you? Is this a result of global warming? Okay Mother Nature - enough is enough!

I feel ya! We've had the downstairs heat on at night. As heat rises so we don't need the upstairs one on unless its extremely cold.

I turn mine down at night and actually have my ceiling fan on as it gets too warm at night with my blankets and quilt.

Our weather is in the 80's. It really fluctuates. Goes from 60's to 80's to 90's and back again. I am enjoying any lower temps we can get here because I think that at one point it is going to get HOT and stay that way.

@just4him ......I leave the apt. shut up and dark until the sun is off the building. If I don't it makes it too hot. Then when the sun goes down I open it all up and it keeps it nice. Only time it gets unpleasant in mid 90 - 100 degrees.

Yes, it will. Today we're in the 80's. I have my office window open. I'll open my living room window in a little bit.

@celticeagle The way the building faces, I don't get a lot of sun in summer. More in winter. So it's much cooler in the apartment now.

I´m in the southern hemisphere and I am cold. My feet are freezing although the rest of my body is better. But the house was cold yesterday, after my not being here for about a week. So I forgot about money and turned on the heat.

@just4him I am sure that today´s temperature is about the same as yesterday´s. But inside the house, it is much better.

I think global warming means it's geting warmer, not cooler !!! It is hazy here in the mountains today, a little muggy but not bad. The ac is running and that's all I care about. We are taking a break, weree out sight seeing this moring and rnning around buying things I had on my to do list.

I'm headed to the store in a bit for a little bit of groceries. I'm sure it's warmer outside than inside.

@GardenGerty It's been that kind of spring. Cold and wet. I'm looking forward to summer for a little more heat, but not too much. I prefer it on the cooler side as I love winter, but my system is in shock right now not knowing what season it's supposed to be so I'm always cold.

It is very hot. When it gets hot, I have a problem sleeping even more. Air conditioning is expensive, but yesterday I turned it on for a few minutes. It felt so good.

I haven't taken the cover off my air conditioner yet. One of my boys will have to do that as I can't reach it. I have ceiling fans and I got extensions for the chains from maintenance so I could turn them on. The only one I'm using right now is the one in the bedroom. Heat and I don't get along, so I hope this summer will not be too hot.

@MsBooklover My younger son told me that being the first or ground floor apartment is going to be cooler because it's like the basement. It would probably be warmer if I were on the second floor. The sun is in better position to reach those apartments. So it's always cool in my apartment. The good thing is that when it does start to really heat up outside, I won't need the air conditioner. Or not much at least.

@just4him I don't like heat, either. I would rather it be cold. I have a fan, and could use an extension for the chain because I have a hard time reaching it. Instead, I use the switch on the wall. There is central air, and I am using it now with the fan. The heat is too much inside.

It is close to 90 outside once the sun comes up. Not too bad if I use fans. When the sun goes down it drops to the 50's outside.

I mostly want the same kind of weather that you want. Not too humid and not too hot. Just a perfect weather would do for a while for a change.

The weather has been pretty darn nice here, except for a few rainy days and cooler days. I'm grateful for our gas fireplace. It has certainly warmed me up. Otherwise, on principle, I refuse to turn the furnace on until mid October. It will jump to 90 on Saturday I heard, and you know how much I love warm weather. Just keep that hoodie on. Soon you will be ripping it off!

Not today at least. I still have it on, but I haven't been wearing the hood for a few hours. I'm still colder than I want to be. Outside is beautiful and should be again tomorrow. Yes, I know how much you like that warmer weather. I wouldn't mind this so much if it were fall going into winter, but summer is a few days away and my system is in shock with the up and down temps

I would much rather have your cooler temps. It's in the 80's here, and I am constantly uncomfortable. My bedroom (where my computer is) is constantly just a bit warmer than the rest of the house. No vents are blocked, and the air flows in, but it's always warmer all the same..

It's supposed to be 80 today or tomorrow, I'd have to check on that, still inside is chilly. I wish I had that warmth you're feeling - can we trade?

Maybe you need to move here to Paradise, California. In the summer, we get a number of 100 degree days. Personally, I hate summers here, I'd trade for cool weather. i guess the grass is always greener somewhere else, lol. Thing is, I'd not be able to deal with a lot of snow. Can't do the work involved with it. It's been very nice here lately though, not hot, not cold mid 70s to 80s. But I know the hot weather will get here, it always does. I do hope you warm up pretty soon.

I can't deal with hundred degree days. Too hot. I'm going to try opening the windows and see what happens - if it gets warmer in here. Sure would be nice if it would.

We had a cold start of May and the temperature until about one week ago was a lot cooler than usual. From last Sunday it's hot like summer, very hard to go from almost cold to very hot.
