Time to Change my Profile Picture

A few days ago I read and commented on one of All is Well... @manikarnika posts. She asked if we preferred black or white hair. As my hair is white and has been since I was thirty, it was easy to respond. Unfortunately it has bugged me ever since.
My hair is white but I hid that fact for years. The day after I retired I sat in the beautician’s chair for four hours as she stripped all the color out of my hair. I was tired of coloring it, but I refused to live with the two tone look for a year.
It’s been a year since I returned to my natural hair color (which is no color) but I was still sporting brown hair on my profile picture. I hate taking selfies but it was time to do it.
So I have white hair and a face full of wrinkles. I am who I am.

my mother's hair looks better now that it's all white. your hair was all white when you were only 30?

Yep. It started turning in my mid twenties. I colored it before my wedding and colored it from then on. The only time I didn't was when I was pregnant. When I went to pick my youngest son up from the daycare when he was an infant someone commented on my beautiful grandchild. I colored my hair again that night.

I just love your white hair, its beautiful.
I have salt and pepper hair, and that darned grey is so stubborn, I look forward to the day that it turns all white.
And, I prefer your current photo over the other one, I don't see a face full of wrinkles, you actually look relaxed-a side-effect of retirement from what I'm told.

@BettyB Mine won't hold colour, I used to have low lights put in, just to add a bit of definition, but even those wouldn't hold after a while. I get a lot of compliments on my salt and pepper hair. And like you, I don't want to live thru that two tone stage, I remember when my mother went thru that, and I couldn't believe what a long process it was.

We can't see wrinkles in your photo, and you look the same, but with white hair!
No want should feel they have to color their hair forever. If it is something a person wants to do, great, but it seems like something a person would get really tired of doing @BettyB

I am glad you enjoy your white hair. I guess I am still not at that point so I color my hair.

What do they use to strip color out of hair? I have always wondered that lol.

I don't know what she used. I had to go to six different beauty shops before I found someone that knew what she was doing. She worked in the shop part time and taught at a beauty school full time. Most didn't have a clue as to how to tackle the problem.
