Reject them, before they reject you

We come across situations where you see people getting ready to reject you either in the real or virtual world. This you notice when they do not return your calls or respond to emails, etc. The best is to reject them before they reject you for your own peace. I have done that specially when it comes to my nieces and nephews and oh boy they are missing me and how

I'm not sure what you mean. I don't think I could deliberately reject someone. If they choose not to interact with me, that is fine, but my door would always be open. People are free to choose whether or not they wish me in their lives.

@valmnz For me it depends on the intensity of our past relationship. If it was great and a step is taken to wind it up for whatever reason I would like me to be the one to initiate it.

I am not sure either what you mean If you notice there is a drift in relationship - a sign that says - I have no time for you - before it becomes official I should be the one to say it (lol)

No one likes to be rejected or ignored. However, there are some who make you feel that either they are deliberately ignoring or they are going to reject you, if that gut feelings comes, it is wiser to reject/ignore them.

Two of my nieces want to be friends with me on FB. I have ignored it. They want a virtual relationship but not a real one.

@allknowing I think your made them feel disappointed by rejecting their facebook friend request. Now a days younger generation has no time for real relationship, virtual relationship gives them a kind of cover to hide themselves.

No one is attacking anyone here. It is what one feels here matters.

Too much rejection in my life. I prefer giving a person a chance first.

Your words are wise @allknowing , I hate it when someone does not return basic decency. I have to learn to reject them too.

When you notice indifference that is the time to move on specially when they have used you in the past.

I've thought of that. In the age of self-absorbtion, maybe will "accept" you if you heap praise on them and their accomplishments (even if the have none).

It has to start somewhere and I will start. They have taken it for granted that we will always be there when they want us but not any more

Your nieces and nephews appear lacking in their upbringing. Shame on them!

To be honest, I really don't like rejections. I mean, it is okay for me to say it to my face the fact instead of rejecting me as if I have offended someone by my looks or whatever.

It is the indifference that indicates rejection and before it happens I like to do it myself.

As for me, I like to give people space so if I contact them and hear nothing from them, I will wait. If they show me the sign that they don't like me, I will slowly disappear from their life...

Thats the right thing to do. Don't stress oneself to people that stresses us. Let them get stress up when they don't have us in their life and don't want to come back to it like they always want.

The youngsters think the seniors just wait for them to come back. It is time a message is sent to them

@allknowing Right! Some teens thinks that they are entitled to everything and that they can fool us.
