My grandson is staying with me today while his mom goes to work. I'm looking forward to having him here so I took out the ingredients to make pancakes for our breakfast. We don't usually have that sort of breakfast here on a weekday but I thought it would be fun instead of the old standby cereal or toast.
My grandson just finished the 6th grade and received an award for having his yearly average above 95. I didn't go to the ceremony but wish I had been there in person to clap and applaud his achievements.
I have few little things I need him to help me with today and he always asks if he needs to bring his muscles when he comes over. This has been an ongoing joke since he was very little.
So, that's my plans for today what about you? anything good for breakfast?

Don't forget the syrup. Or maybe fruit topping.

@workathomefan I love syrup so my pancakes/waffles are swimming in it. I never put peanut butter on a waffle but I bet it's good

@Marilynda1225 When in the mood I'll have them like cereal. I cut up three bananas and pour milk over them. It's yummy.

Pancakes with Maple syrup? Yes. That is what I tasted when I was holidaying in the US. We do not get Maple syrup here unless I get it online. The genuine Maple syrup is very expensive.
Happy your grandson is doing well in school.

Real maple syrup is expensive here too so we usually just buy commercial stuff at the grocery store.

@Marilynda1225 Maybe you should try it.
But maybe you get it confused. The hotdog is to be eaten as it is , not mixed into the pancake.

Isn't it a blessing when a grandchild comes for a visit? I joke about buying out the grocery store when one of our kids is coming! I know you're proud of your grandson, he sounds like a very bright young man.

@Marilynda1225 You sound a lot like me, only our youngest grandson lives 5 hours away.

I love to indulge the grand-kids when they come. This grandson just lives 5 minutes away so he's here quite frequently. He's also a great help around the house and I always slip him a few bucks for his help

Not today, my granddaughter had Grape Nuts (generic) for breakfast because she and her mom were in a hurry. She's 3 1/2 and was really excited about a miniature gumball machine she won at a pizza place last night--which made her, her mom, and boyfriend all violently ill but this morning the two that are here seem fine.
I like to cook pancakes for her with blueberries, sometimes chocolate chips in them. Or I scramble an egg or poach one or make a ham and asparagus omelet. Sometimes we have oatmeal and fruit, there's always fruit at breakfast.
I love how your grandson is so willing to help you out! You keep encouraging him and allowing him to feel useful and proud and he will grow into a fine man.
