@enlightenedpsych2 @JohnRoberts I got the photo from the back side of the bird. If you see them from the front, they have a hint of blue and yellow on their chest.

They are pretty birds. I think they are in the cardinal family.

The first time I saw them, I thought they were cardinals (it was shaded and I couldn't tell what color they were).

They are migratory and we usually get them around here during the warmer months. However, this year is the first year I've actually seen one around here. I think they are just passing through to get a drink of water out of that creek because they are berry eaters and there aren't any berries around here yet.

@prashu228 They usually spend their winters in the southern part of the country and in Mexico. They come up here during the spring and summer, usually flying further north as the temps get hotter.
