Woman Charged with Murder

I read in the newspaper about a woman who encouraged her boy friend to commit suicide and now she's on trial for his murder. The two saw very little of each other in person and communicated mostly by text and email. Investigators picked up her phone and laptop for confirmation. She continually texted him and encouraged him go ahead with suicide. On the last day of his life, he was in his truck breathing carbon monoxide when he texted the girl friend. She told him to do it. When he stepped out of the truck, she told him to get back in the truck and finish the job. He did as she told him. It was thought she wanted to get attention by being a grieving girlfriend. I didn't understand how she originally came under suspicion. But it was all on her phone and laptop. Now she's charged with murder. What do you think about the murder charge?

Ruby, that is horrendous news! She deserves to get the maximum under the law. Her boyfriend must have had serious problems to do what she told him to do.

@Jumaronalds I don't think that was it. He had his girlfriend trying to get him to kill himself.

She was able to manipulate the mind of his bf so that he just followed her every instruction to finish his life! It is so horrifying. She deserves to be convicted and jailed for life.

I really don't believe she will get a life sentence not that she doesn't deserve it but she will be hard to convict. She'll probably get 5 to 10 years, just my opinion.

I didn't know she had told others what she was doing. Someone should have notified his family. We have terrible people in the world but I think the good outweighs the bad.

@crazyhorseladycx You would think so. But maybe it's murder or nothing.

She's one sick woman. She encouraged him to do it, so in a way she is responsible.

good for her. she actually murdered her boyfriend. maybe the boy was rich? or depressed? what is the reason, i don't know, but people who are easily swayed by others have poor foundation.

@RubyHawk maybe the man is severely depressed, while the woman is a maniac.

Hum, that's a hard question. Maybe accessory to murder, but she didn't murder him and each human has free will. I saw this on Facebook the other day.

@RubyHawk I've never known anyone in that type of situation so I can only give me opinion. I don't think I would kill myself if you told me to.

It's a hard question but when people are depressed they need someone to lift them up not encourage them to kill them self.

Yes, she should be charged, she is basically telling someone who would appear to be unstable to kill them self.. Instead of trying to help them . She didn't provide him with the supplies to do it but she told him and didn't try and stop him.

I'm torn about this. Telling someone to kill themselves is not really the same as actually killing them. If we're going to start charging people for crimes based on their mere words, then 99% of this nation wold be locked up behind bars. But on the other hand, if she knew he was in the actual process of killing himself, and did nothing to try and stop it, then I think she should at least be charged as an accessory to murder.

@RubyHawk I think I will agree with you there. At that point, she should have been rendering first aid to him and/or calling the authorities for assistance. Does that woman not have a soul, to actually encourage someone to take their own life? Or was their relationship just that bad?

I think it was when he got out of the truck and she told him to get back in the truck and finish the job that it turned into murder.

@RubyHawk Well, if she's looking for attention, she's certainly getting it. And pretty soon she'll be getting lots of attention from behind bars.

How could she be charged of murder when the man was so stupid why followed the foolish advise of his girlfriend. The man should have thought the girl did not like him anymore. He should have been wise, poor guy, poor reasoning.

Perhaps it is not logical, but I think this girl is guilty. She is his girl friend rather than common friend. And even if she doesn't stop or do anything to avoid it, she should not encourage him to kill himself. I don't know what's wrong with this girl. She is sick.
