We Rescued & Returned Sally!

A week ago my husband and I were grocery shopping at Walmart, as we were putting the groceries in the SUV, I saw this dog walking around the parking lot. I called her over to us and she was the most loving pup I had ever met. She had a collar but not a tag, so we moved all of the groceries and got her in the SUV to bring her to our home.
A guy in the parking lot said that she had been walking around for a while but wouldn't come to him when he tried to take her.
She was here for two days, got along with our other dog Roscoe right away and had no problems other than trying to get out of the fence all of the time.
I posted her all over Facebook, but no one was claiming her. I was hoping I would be able to keep her, I even thought about naming her Sally.
On the third day of her being here, my husbands manager found the owners on Facebook and she was safely returned.
The irony of it, her name was already Sally!
I thought that was so neat!
I hope that the owners are taking good care of her and keeping her safe!
I sure do miss her, but I am so glad that we got her back home safe and sound.

Same here! When we found her she smelled worse than a dumpster that hadn't been touched for six months. We had to give her 3 baths! Lol. There's no telling how long she had been missing.

I am glad Sally got back home. When we were kids, a beautiful white German shepherd wondered into our yard and hung around for a day or so. We gave him a sandiwch and some water. The next day he showed up again and was very friendly. We even named him. Then he was gone. I found out that the dog had a home. He must have just wanted a rest, before he headed back to his house.

That's awesome! I'm sorry you never got to see the dog again, but glad he made it back safely. It was nice of you to feed him!

Sally has a beautiful coat and that shows she is well cared for. Good that you had her for two days and what a coincidence that you too were planning on naming her Sally

From the way she smelled and how skinny she was, you would think so. But there was also no telling how long she had been missing, either. The owners said that she had always had a bad habit of escaping their fenced in back yard as well, and they assumed that's how she got out. She seemed happy to be reunited with her owner, though. So all I can do is hope that she is being well taken care of now.
