I do my very best to bring my children up with love, respect and kindness. They are an age where all they should worry about is what Disney movie to watch. My daughter is 8 and knows about a recent terrorist attack at a concert in Manchester. She has just asked me why people do things like this. How do you explain that to an 8 year old.
Children are not born to hate. They are born to love and respect. When a child is young they do not discriminate against people because of religion, race, or sexual preference. That kind of discrimination and hate is taught. By family and possibly partly by society.
Surely we all have a duty and do our best to eradicate discrimination and hate and the only way to do this for future generations is to teach our children to love and to respect.
As people say. I would not change my children for the world. But I wish I could change the world for my children.

Thank you for the welcome. Everyone is very friendly. Yes raising children is hard enough but worse with these kind of added worries

It's really hard for a parent to raise a child they way the wanted to be because of the influence of the world but I believe if you show more of the good things to them as a parent, they will surely follow you. Your children will grow up as you wanted just don't give up.

Oh I will never give up. My children are all the most loving sensitive little souls. I hope that does not change. I just wish they did not need to grow up in a world with so much hate and evil

As a parent I try to give an example to my children when I relate to tragic events,
Lives of people are the most important thing, You must not take life's person (unless he is try to take yours...),
Every living soul of a human being is a whole world

Although we should not encourage any discrimination we should at least warn kids about bad people who often look the same as the good ones on the outside. But what is in their mind is very scary.
