Feeding your kid

June 13, 2017 8:48am CST
Every morning I have to struggle hard to give my toddler a glass of milk. When I try to give her nutritious food all she wants is junk food. Her weight is also below average. I am worried about her. Someone please help..

All kids have these phases, she will be okay. My kids don't like vegetables but they love fruit, so I give them lots of those. They love strawberry and chocolate milk so they have that instead of plain milk. They take vitamins too.

@Margaret29 Chocolate syrup usually. It's definitely not just your kids. All kids are picky now and then.

Try putting a little chocolate syrup in the milk to make chocolate milk, try chips and salsa, ketchup is counted as a vegetable. Waffles with strawberries are good too. When all else fails, you can just give her a multivitamin. Kids go through picky stages, it will pass. Just wait till thier 8 or 9, then they eat everything in the house, lol!

Sometimes you can prepare food in a fun way that they attract the kids to eat.

Im somewhat having the smame problem with my toddler. For the past month she has been so picky to what she eats it was getting very difficult to figure out what to feed her. I think you can try feeding her fruits. It has been my go to snack when she hardly eats anything and surprisingly that's all she eats. Or try feeding her fruits in a fun way?

But can we replace fruits instead of meals...

@Margaret29 Well you slowly feed them fruits and eventually encorporate other ways to feeding them with fruits in it. Eventually they'll be happy to try other meals with fruits?

Your doctor should have suggestions. When my brotger had to gain weight his doctor AND school nurse bith said for my mom to give him milkshakes twice a day. Once for breakfast once after school two hours before dinner

@Margaret29 yes he is. Junk food should be making your kid gain some weight, if not alot of weight.. unless they have a fast metabolism where thry can eat lots if things and not gain.

Milk shakes instead of milk. I think it's a good idea...thank you. Is your brother normal now

I also found it hard when my child was a baby. I think it is common for children to like junk food because it tastes well. I remember in the past it was difficult for us to feed our child vegetables. Then I put a little piece of potato chips on a spoon, and the vegetables, rice and meat were understand it. So our child would finish it happily. I know it is not a very good method, but at least he ate more healthy food. And I just spent a little junk food and it is worthy. Of course when he grows up, you don't have to use this trick and the school will teach him to eat everything.

what kind of junk food does she eat? how does she have access to them?
13 Jun 17
She likes chips, fries and all deep fried snacks. It is through friends and relatives. Even though I give a note not to give her any. She makes a fuss and so they give in...
