Back On The Antibotics Again

I just can't seem to stay away from the antibiotics and steroids. No matter what I do I seem to be always going back to them.
I went to the doctor yesterday and once again they are putting on them. My immune system is so bad that it appears that I catch everything that comes along. Too bad I am not as good at grabbing hold of money. I would be rich.
Anyway, I guess it is what it is. Al I can do is what my doctor tells me to do.
I also found out that I am very low in Vitamin D. I have to look up on the internet what to eat to build it back up.
Today was a nice day. My hubby and I went out to lunch and rode over to the other house so I could see the progress he has made.
How was your day? I hope it was as pleasant as mine.

Okay you can get ice cream for Vitamin D or milk or take a Vitamin tablet--your choice! (I take a pill.)
I take 14 meds a day--they keep me alive so I take them--my choice!

You get Vitamin D from the sun, but you have to not wear sun screen to get it, My doctor put me on 2,000 a day and I have not had a cold or anything in years, however I got bit by a tick and did the antibotics

Maybe you should do some research on how to strengthen the immune system.

Sometimes after taking antibiotics constantly, they no longer work @HazySue . The body builds up an immunity to them so they are no longer effective. Citrus, Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Garlic, Ginger, Spinach, Yogurt, Almonds, Turmeric, Green Tea, Papaya, Kiwi, Poultry, Sunflower Seeds and Shellfish are some good things. For the Vitamin D; some supplements should help.

@HazySue I take the Vitamin D3 too because of my Osteopina of the spine and Osteoporosis of the hips.

@nanette64 I have a weakness of my spine, I forget what they said about it exactly. I guess Vitamin D3 is needed for that too.

Like your post but sorry your sick and on antibiotics My blood work always comes up showing an iron deficiency (anemia) which I take supplements for, and I went through a bad period of weight loss and elevated blood pressure where they expected cancer or some other disease. Fortunately, things turned out ok for me. So I can understand feeling down over poor health. Wishing nothing but the best for in the days ahead

@dgobucks226 It is hard not to worry when you know you are feeling bad but don't know why. I wish you luck with staying healthy.

@HazySue Yes, in my case I consistently have border line/low anemia when I have my blood work done. Some of my issues with blood pressure were due to my worry/stress over what was wrong with me. I actually wound up in the ER for chest pains and BP off the charts! It's scary not knowing why you feel so bad That was a learning experience for sure! Good luck with your future health

Well, today is not one of my Good days. The pain I have been feeling on and off since my Surgery is at it's worst today. Have taken too pain pills and will see if this helps relieve the pain some, or I will have to say something tomorrow myself. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Generally you do not increase your D with food. Your body manufactures it when you are exposed to sunlight without sunscreen. Many people take supplements, and your doctor should have told you this. Generally the recommendation is 2000 to 3000 units of D3 daily. Yes, some is available in dairy products, and you can eat lots of fatty fish for it, but many are requiring supplements. This may be why your immune system is weak. Or part of the reason.

When my Vitamin D dropped low, my doctor told me to take 1000 IU of it every day. Calcium will not be absorbed properly without it. When I saw the oncologist on Thursday he said to up it to 2000 IU a day due to the other medicines I'm on. I'm also taking more calcium than I used to. We can get calcium from our foods and Vitamin D from the sun, but I'll take the pills. The older I get the more I worry about bone density and potential breaks.

Yeah...Take more fruits. It has more health benefits. Also it is natural so you have any side effects. My suggestion is don't take tablet regularly because it is not good when compared to natural fruits and vegetables.Take care of your health.Have fun.Enjoy
