Zucchini is a great vegetable. We enjoy zucchini raw, cooked, and even pickled. Many on myLot will probably say they also have puchased or made zucchini bread. If neighbors grow zucchini, they might find they have more than they need and want to share it with you. And the people across the road. And, the couple down the lane too. There is more than enough zucchini in one garden for everyone! However, if you also grow zucchini, you have your own to can or freeze or share with others. Once you accept zucchini from your neighbor, they will know you are a soft touch and bring you more! How can you refuse? You said yes the last time! Don't accept zucchini from your neighbors`

Zucchini did not do well around here last year. I would love to have some. I used to grate it and freeze it for baking and cooking all year long.

We just shredded a ton of broccoli someone had in their greenhouse @GardenGerty Some don't realize how easy it is to do this and save it for cold weather.

We eat a ton of veggies, but really can just handle so much @maezee Some here eat zucchini as it. Just pick it up and eat it raw with the skin. Still can't use 10 lbs in a day!

I have never been fond of zucchini preferring cucumber instead. Fortunately no neighbors plant zucchini so I don't have your problem.

What is really funny here @simone10 is that with a little organization, we could each grow what someone else does not and share so that everyone has everything.

I can often pick up zuchinni at the post office. People drop off excess produce for others to help themself. Love small towns! That way noone knows it was me who took it. So I am safe from being offered more. Have you heard the joke about the gardener who left a basket of zuchinni on a chair by the road. She set a "Free" sign beside it. When she checked later the chair was gone and the zucchini was still there.

Mine are coming in fast and furious. I don't make z bread, not sure I would like it. I did one yesterday very easily - sliced it, put in a pot on stove, added a pint of stewed tomatoes I made last year and cooked until z was tender. I knew my husband would not love it - so on his I put a ton of Parm. cheese...and he ate it. I have several more ready to pick, might have to give some away soon.

@RasmaSandra Is bug spray used in your country? Many grow their own zucchini here b/c they are trying to avoid bug spray. In the stores here the price for organic is often much higher than for the ones with bug spray.

@PatZAnthony actually people here love to grow zucchini. However we have never tried it. We stick to cucumbers, tomatoes and pumpkins and this year added potatoes. When the season ends the stores are full of zucchini anyway.
