phew, it's a scorcher ... AGAIN

The world is melting. I'm not making it up. The world truly is melting into a squidgy puddle of boiling bits. Local roads have gone home on the tyres of cars being driven on them. I sat on a wall whilst waiting for Husband after work and had to jump up within thirty seconds because my bottom was burning.
I wonder if I am in Hell.
If Hell does exist then this is mine. An eternity spent in stupid heat, too hot to do anything but eat ice-cream. I think that instead of Snow Days we should be allowed Hot Days. These 30°+ days are such a rarity that we just can't cope. Well, *I* can't cope. I can't function. I am not designed for heat.
I'm allowed to whine and grumble; like I said, it's a rarity to have such days where we appear to have moved to the Sun. Dear Hot Places, please come and collect your hotness ... it isn't always nice to share.
If I were a praying person, I would pray for rain and storms overnight. Snow would be welcome.

oh my, the heat can sure make ya feel ('t times sorta wish) that we'd be meltin'. 'twas 105 degrees (f 'r 45 degrees c 'n yer neck 'f the woods) 'n 'twas accompanied by a hot wind. not pleasant 'n e'en the poor birds were pantin'. no joke, 'twas pitiful. to the point i turned'n our outdoor swamp cooler (aka: sprinkler system out'n my wee sanctuary that's 'bout 6' off the ground) which thankfully cools't off by 'bout 20 degrees.
did get a reprieve sunday with a cold front, but we hit 90 (f) here today 'n 're lookin' to the triple digits 'gain by wednesday. ah, springtime....
big air hugs comin' at'cha! (one's that've been dipped'n snow)

@crazyhorseladycx Can't you just tie them up by the trough of water in front of the saloon bar? *grin*

@poppylicious I was not designed for heat either. I can only tolerate it if I have cold water available in which to shower or swim.

@Poppylicious But would you believe my wife still used a hot water bottle in this weather? Two quilts and a hot husband aren't enough.

I suppose that's one good thing about this weather; we don't need to put the water on so save some gas money. :)

I don't think rain is forecast for a while. Me and my garden really need it.

It is 79 degrees here (I am too lazy to convert that into celsius at the moment) and I have two fans going.
To be fair, my bedroom stays the warmest and so I always have to fans going...
Hopefully a good rain shower or two will come and wash away the scorching days for you!

Apparently not for a while. The skies are nothing but clouds this morning, but I don't think they're going to give the gift of rain. *sigh*

@Poppylicious Just when you wouldn't mind a bit of rain, huh?
We had a real down pour here yesterday. It was supposed to also herald severe storms but luckily those didn't come.

@Poppylicious I am all for that. In my schooldays, not in this country, you started at 8:15am and finished at 14:30, except for June: 8:15 to 12:30 in weeks 1 and 2, 8:15 to 11:30 for weeks 3 and 4, then holidays from 29-June until first week of October. Those were the days...
Once upon a time there was a tavern Where we used to raise a glass or two Remember how we laughed away the hours And dreamed of all the great things we would...

When it gets to Ooh-ahh pavement degrees we should be allowed to stumble home, hot and sweaty, so that we can melt in the privacy of our own homes.

I'm in England. By other countries standards it isnt *that* hot. The mercury hit a staggering 33° Celsius yesterday. No breeze. Not even a ruffle. Just stagnant, smouldering heat. By our standards this is a heatwave. It should be about 10° cooler.
