I wonder if other nations do pay LOBOLA to girls parents when they marry them, or they just make an agreement and ends there. In my castom or culture, a man has to pay for the girl. So what can you saynow?

Thankyou so much, you are very close to Lesotho and hope you will come. Some families do negotiate the price , at times they will reduce the scale, so that you pay less. There is a saying in Sesotho MONYALA KA PELI O NYALA OA HAE meaning that, even if you pay slowly, slowly untill you finish the payment , the wife is yours.

I am black in Africa, so I am reffering to ,may be white, brown or even some of the blacks. I just want to know if its only BASOTHO who do that.

What I can say is that your post doesn't make sense if you don't add on your account page in which country you live. It would also be a good idea if you mentioned what Lobola means as other members don't necessarily speak your language.

I wanted to add my country only to find it doesn't appear on drop list, only Pretoria which SOUTH AFRICA appears. Again check properly, I have explained the mean of Lobola. My friend remember I am new here please keep on advising me on how to do things the right way. Thank you.
