Do you think it's silly to name your pet after a real persons name?

my brother got to name his friends chihuahua. It jumped up on him, and straight away my brother said "hello Steve". The name stuck. I think its cool:)

I think its cute to name pets after people. Our newest addition is our dog Roscoe. My 3 year old named him after Roscoe on the Dukes of Hazzard. She loves the show and him. We havve even had fish named Bo, Luke and Daisy Duke. I dont mind as long as its somthing that my 2 year old can say too.

As long as you live in a free country you can name animals as you like. Well i wouldnt call a dog or cat in real peoples names, coz i have respect for us people, Although i love animals and they deserve to be loved, but deserve they own names - animal origin names - i used to call my deaf cat as suns ( = dog - transl. from latvian ) it was amusing and funny.. gave me more credibility if i was comming home with a girl and my white cat saw me and was pursuing me for half kilometer until the door and i was calling it "dog" - was real funny:)

I have LOTS of pets (six dogs, eleven cats and a bird). Some have real people names (Willie, Katie, Hannah, Holly, Chloe) and others don't (Bowser, Fawn, Sweet Pea, Nubs, BK, Jasmine, Sugar, Sissy, Dup, Moki, Doodle, Atti, Angel).

Absolutely not silly! My dog's name is Tasha, a people name. However, my cat's name is Pepe-Le-Peu, after the skunk on Looney Toons. You Can name your pet whatever you want, as long as it makes you happy.

No I don't think it's silly. Sometimes a "human" name just fits for a pet.

hmm i don't see anything weird about it... :) it may only gets confusing if you know someone with the same name of your pet and both your pet and the person you know is with you and you try to call one of them.. :p that would be a funny situation, i think :)
