democracy vs communism

Some people said that "China is an 'absolute country',people don't have the right to select who they like,there is only one party."while on the other hand,his country many people are in starvation,health & medical problem,corruption.
What can I say?I didn't see much people's lives in china are struggling,on the contrary we live good.If there is an option for democracy and get your stomach filled,I choose the latter.

I prefer a principality. You know a small country ruled by a monarch. People who lives in principalities are richer and happier.
